Or just tell them in a perky voice that they'd need a Master's degree. After their initial wide-eyed surprise, they'll sum it up neatly by voicing aloud what you've known for years. "Oh, really? This doesn't seem worth a Master's degree." (We're lucky this happened to me. Someone who takes their job seriously would not have found it as hilarious.)

And PLEASE don't tell any awkawrd, gangly, or even slightly pudgy, teenagers with severe social angst that this is a great career to choose in order to be antisocial. It's just not true anymore, thank God.
