Ditto about being envious of the custodians. We have one guy who comes "from de islands, mon" and if we don't clean then it stays dirty!

Buying things off of eBay, hiding in the supply closet, hiding in other people's cubiles, text messaging in the stacks, hiding in the staff bathrooms, going out to their car and then "forgetting" to come back...
make elaborate photo-shopped screen savers for the public terminals. Such as: "please push in your chair when you are done"

Hiding in the Pit with visiting family member chatting.
Talking on cell phone in rear stairwell out of security camera view.
Cutting up book request slips one at a time for an entire day instead of doing it in 5 minutes on our cutter :-)
Making "day of the week" cards and laminating them in different colors.....making this self created job stretch out for a week. Yup! 14 small business size cards.
Making business cards and flyers for you side "mowing" business.

A good librarian will always be on the lookout for his or her colleagues who are prone to procrastination. Be vigilant as you patrol for the following behaviors @ your library:
Uncharacteristic desk cleaning / filing
Sharpening golf pencils for the reference desk
Repeatedly retyping and laminating one's "To do" list
Making voodoo dolls out of paperclips
Policing other people's procrastination
Ask the readers: How do your library colleagues procrastinate at work?
"Procrastination (Now!), Stopping"
