I like to pepper my computer talk with vague references to the Master Control Program. Also, I respond to any use of the word computer with the phrase "Would you like to play a game?" in a hilarious computer voice. If they give me enough time I go all the way with "Let's play global thermonuclear war. Funny game. The only way to win is not to play." I think demonstrating how au currant I am with the cyberzone gives me patrons a new found sense of confidence.

I work in the IT business and we often times refer to the internet as "a series of tubes" as a joke. My daughter-in-law and son refer to it as "interenets" (plural)....I even questioned them one time about that...just to make sure I wasn't missing something...hahahaha.
Information highway? huh? I go speeding down The Information Superhighway. That is, when I'm not busy Surfing the 'Net.

my boss likes to (unironically) ask where the "internet button" is on my desktop. apparently everyone else's is on the bottom left side of the screen and, horrors, mine is on the top left side. it really freaked her out when she couldn't find it. it really freaked me out that she referred to the "internet button" approximately a dozen times.
Webernet is a personal favorite... so is the intertubes

I have just started working at a public library and the staff refer to computers with internet access as "internets". As in, "this branch has four internets". I find it bizarre.

our head honcho in the end of year speech at school last year actually referred to it as the 'information super highway' in his fun speech about internet safety (which they only discovered at the end of 2007!) and kept referring to the 'dark alleyways' on/off the information super highway. jeez. I like to refer to dodgy net connections as the 'information super goat-track', and my personal generic favourite is the 'world wide wait'.
