One of the college libraries I worked at decided to use leadership instead of global warming and the other librarians almost lost it/staged a coup.

I actually frequently show grad students how to "stalk" their professors by setting up citation alerts and running citation analysis reports and otherwise generally knowing more about said professor's scholarly output than said professor does. :P

I use "fart". It is a good way to teach controlled vocabulary (flatulence), and boy does it get the attention of undergrads as they snicker "OMG, the librarian said fart!" And you'd be amazed at the number of articles on animals passing gas.
If students are growing tired of your default "global warming" search examples in the library instruction classroom, switch things up and demonstrate how you can use your refined search skills to stalk hot patrons using their library accounts and open Facebook profiles.
