If you're a librarian's librarian, then doesn't that mean you're doing his/her work for them? I think it might be time to re-evaluate the library budget.
Is saying one is a 'librarian's librarian' the same as saying one is a "nerd's nerd"?

I don't know. All I do know is that some of these older living stereotype-type librarians need to retire quick. I worked with an awful women today who claimed to be a refernece librarian, and the whole time pretty much everything she did/said made me think over and over again: "Really? Someone thought it was a good idea to let you near patrons? Really?"

If a colleague calls you "a librarian's librarian," it is perfectly acceptable to punch him or her in the mouth.
