do you have to give them a class evaluation form if they were wearing ear buds for the entire class?

I skip evaluation forms. Here at big state university (bsu, har har), our students volunteer their evaluations in the form of comments like "So, don't really need to know this?"

yes!!! i have spent *way* to much time preparing for library instruction sessions--some of which were mediocre at best (at least energy-wise).

I'll try slamming the door next time.

One of the best instruction sessions I ever did was a spontaneous, 10-minute-late fill-in-job for a librarian who had overslept the class (as I have done). The students were so amazed by my bewildered appearance that they were totally in awe of it and stared straight ahead like: "omg. what is SHE going to do?"

the classroom was somehow teeming with the insane energy of it all which propelled us through a fabulous session on short-story literary criticism

Except in MY case, I am the one that's the damn millenial, and a good portion of the students I do the instruction for are older than me. How's that for nightmare inducing role reversal? The students are frightened by me, and rightfully so.
