One puts forth the same intensity of work needed to produce an article for your lyberry's newsletter (or slightly less), sends it to IO, and gets credit for a "scholarly article"...?

Now that IS news we (and the other "junior" faculty members of our lyberry's staff) can use. Thanks for the tip.

hey--at least they PAY you for the stuff! I do know firsthand, however, that they machine edit the stuff--as in run the submission through a paper shredder, then reassemble at random and publish.

Your blog is the best! So I want to start a librarian thinktank (i know it's an oxymoron, but just bare with me) so, I read all these blogs and you all are on the same page, more or less, on how inane the library world is. so here is the question-How do we keep this craptastic profession from going down the crapper?
