J, I see this blog is a little old, but it is brilliant nonetheless. this morning I set out to explore whether this notion some of us have that librarians are actually a strange breed of people is actually a well known fact. You have really hit upon something here. I urge you to reopen this guide. the librarian that inspired this search is actually an elementary school librarian who is just the latest in a string of bizarre-to-very-bizarre librarians we've had. Your work here is a real mitzvah. ;)

This is the funniest blog I've read all day. And I work at a reference desk which means I can aimlessly Google all day. (!)
I am reading them all from the beginning (at the desk) and then will pout and cry when I get to the end and click repeatedly on my favorite bookmark until you update it.

Librarians are strange people. There are no exceptions to this rule. Many are unknowingly awkward, dirty, unsocialized, and rude. The Guide is meant to be a reference source for these poor souls who walk among us.
