About Me
I am in my mid-30s and currently living in the Pleasant Ridge neighborhood in Cincinnati, Ohio. My wife and I are raising two beautiful daughters from previous marriages in one cohesive and surprisingly non-dysfunctional family unit. My professional career involves technology and finance – but it is, categorically, not a topic for any of my blogging efforts – aside from very general observations about business, markets, and the changing nature of our information economy. I’m also Catholic. And in matters of politics I am a moderate, pragmatic conservative. My roots are on the East Coast, specifically New England and the D.C. area. I call Ohio my home right now, but one day I would like to return to be near the ocean, even if I’m ridiculously old, and they just prop me up on the beach in my wheelchair and blanket. I enjoy the solid values of the Midwest, but there is a dull complacency and risk avoidance at work sometimes that undermines community. I don’t care if you’re married with children, there’s no reason why you should rot away your life with narrow pursuits and endless trips back and forth to superstores and corporate restaurants.
