About Me

I am a Methodist pastor. I would describe myself as a Christian disciple, rooted in the Anglo-Catholic tradition with some Evangelical and Charismatic emphases. And so I strongly resonate with much of John Wesley's theology and practice. I tend to think that at its best Wesleyan Methodism is an Evangelical (emphasizing personal experience of relationship with Christ, and Biblical authority) and a Charismatic (emphasizing the Spirit-filled/led life for service and holiness) movement within the Anglican Tradition (emphasizing historic, and catholic continuity of doctrine, liturgy, sacrament, creed, and all that is best in the Ecumenical Tradition) with Wesley's own emphasis on social engagement and on the spiritual disciplines as means of opening our lives to God's grace. My BA is in Political Theory from LSU; MDiv is from SMU.
