About Me
I write poetry in this blog, "Unguarded Utterance," (under the pen name, S.L. Corsua) to channel my lucid dreams, introspection, memories, reflection, sense-perception, and imagination. But really, I just love playing with words. At least, here, I have freedom from the technical language of the law, freedom from the urge to be a persuasive advocate, and just... damn write my literary-doppelganger-soul across these pages, stretch it, make it fluid, make it open and layered. I used to write prose (non-fiction narratives, mostly, but I also enjoyed doing fiction) many years ago, attending creative writing workshops while at it for two years or so, stopped when I pursued a degree in Law, later resumed creative writing as a hobby, but this time: I crossed over to poetry. It was love at first sight (so to speak) when, by chance, I first heard a reading of Pablo Neruda's "If You Forget Me." I haven't stopped reading and/or writing poetry since.
Caveat: I have a thing for alternating themes when I post here, i.e. from the generally 'fun/happy/light' to the generally 'serious/sad/heavy' poems and vice-versa. Occasionally, I also change the style. Cheers.
