About Me

Before founding the Baltimore Group, I worked on Capitol Hill and in Transatlantic Relations. I attended Johns Hopkins University where I specialized in security politics, with particular focus on proliferation issues. Currently, I work for a New Media company which has developed tools to harness the power of the Internet for political campaigns and member organizations (a la Dean). Prior to my current job I spent 4.5 months hiking the Pacific Crest Trail from Southern California to Canada. I chose the pen name "The Stuffed Tiger" as a dual reference to Hobbes the philosopher (it all starts with anarchy) and to Hobbes the tiger (Calvin: "Do you believe in the devil? You know, a supreme evil being dedicated to the temptation, corruption, and destruction of man?" Hobbes: "I'm not sure that man needs the help.") ~Austin
