Ashley Tate

About Me

Long ago I started down a career path involving writing, politics, and public policy. I majored in political science and communications at Grove City College; wrote for the GCC Collegian newspaper; worked as a campaign volunteer for Virginia Delegate (and later GOP Lt. Gov nominee) Jay Katzen; and served as a Congressional intern for Rep. Frank Wolf (R-VA). Shortly after college I discovered a latent talent and deep interest in programming; when opportunity knocked in the form of an interesting startup I dived headfirst into the software world and relegated my writing and public policy interests to hobby status. I've since worked for several software startup and consulting companies and currently work as a software architect for a health care software company. I blog sporadically on topics of both professional and amateur interest. I'm married to Kate Tate (nee Andrews), and we have four children.
