Do you believe that forks are evolved from spoons? Answer: Before the fork there was the knife/dagger, which ancient warriors used as both weapon and tableware. Thus, the fork evolved from not the spoon (aka "food shovel", evolved from the hand's scooping abilities) but the skewer, which itself is a descendant of the knife. From this we can determine that the spork (spoon + fork) that is the pinnacle of tableware evolution.
