About Me

I grew up in suburban Detroit, between 8 and 9 Mile. My dad was nearly full blood-- a mixture of Cherokee and Chippewa. My mom looks Cherokee. My two sisters, Debi, Kim, and I love to read, think, write and talk. Ken Dowdy, my 6'4" love with hazel eyes and a golden voice, married me 33 years ago. Our sons Chris, 26 and Trevor, 23, rock our world with music, and musings about nearly everything. Chris has the additional charm of a wife, Lauren.
