About Me
Dr. Bouchard was called to the bar of the Law Society of Upper Canada in 2000. He is currently an SJD student in the Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto and a Lupina Research Fellow in the Comparative Program in Health & Society at the Munk Centre for International Studies. Prior to entering graduate studies in law he practiced intellectual property law, with an emphasis on biotechnology and pharmaceutical inventions. He has been involved in the prosecution, acquisition, financing and litigation of intellectual property rights, appearing before the Federal Court of Canada on trial and appeal matters and the Supreme Court of Canada. Before entering law, Ron completed a PhD in Pharmacology & Therapeutics and a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in the area of ion channel biophysics and intracellular ion imaging.
