About Me

My belief in the power of story is reflected in two books I have co-authored: A Weaving of Wonder: Fables to Summon Inner Wisdom, published in 1995 by LuraMedia, with endorsements from, among others, actress/author Patty Duke and Louise Wisechild, author of The Obsidian Mirror and The Mother I Carry; and In Our Shoes: Seven Women Reveal Their Soles, endorsed by John Gray, author of Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus.

In my professional life, I have won numerous awards from the Associated Press and the Society of Professional Journalists for my work as a news reporter and feature writer, and from the Washington School Public Relations Association for my work as co-manager of communications for a large school district in Spokane, Washington. I have a degree in journalism and secondary-level teaching certificate from Gonzaga University.

The true richness of my life, however, comes from my husband, my two sons and step-daughter, my grandson Nathan, my dogs, Jarvis and Sarah, my extended family, friends, and from everyone brave and generous enough to share the stories of their life experiences with me.
