Introduction | Raised by wild bookworms, Query Letter Wizard, Molli Nickell, lived in the reference section of the Kalamazoo City Library. Subsisting on a diet of soft vowels and the occasional consonant (“m” remains her favorite), she cut her reading teeth on Rudyard Kipling, Dr. Seuss, and the Encyclopedia Britannica. A brief stint in show biz found Molli cornering relatives while reciting “Horton Hatches an Egg”—in costume, with kazoo music and dancing. Moving into the larger world of publishing, Molli became a syndicated columnist, Time-Life editor, publisher, UCLA instructor (teaching writers how to sell their manuscripts), five-times published author, motivational speaker, and seminar leader, and now, a publishing coach. The author of hundreds of magazine articles, she’s mentored Toastmaster speakers, designed projects for Better Homes and Gardens, and “hung ten” during her stint as a surfer chick. |
