About Me

Hi, My name is Lori Jean, A.K.A. HappyBird! Here is the short version of my profile: I live, work and play in sunny Southern California. I have a wonderful son, a beautiful daughter-in-law and a precious grandson. I love crafting, baking, old movies and spending time with family. Why I started this blog: A couple years back, I posted some "Cheap, but thoughtful" Christmas gift ideas on a craft board, for the ladies who had lost jobs or were on a fixed income. I saw how depressing Christmas was for them because they felt they couldn't give anything, due to their finances. I received such a terrific response in emails and cards, so I thought it was time to start cataloging these ideas on a blog. I didn't know how to set up a blog, but with a lot of prayer and hunting down tutorials, I managed to set it up. After that, it kind of took on a life of its own and "bloomed."
