Favorite Movies	24 Hour Party People, 28 Days Later, Trainspotting, Clerks, Hot Fuzz, Patton, Star Wars (Empire was easily the best of the original three), Pretty in Pink (shut it), Dazed and Confused, Say Anything, Pride and Prejudice, Little Miss Sunshine, Beerfest, Orgazmo, et al
Favorite Music	Anything from Ryan Adams to ABBA. Life's too short to be a Pitchfork snob.
Favorite Books	David Fulmer, Augusten Burroughs, Nick Hornby, Roald Dahl, Dave Eggers, Elizabeth Kostova, Edward Rutherford, David Sedaris, etc. My favorite book of the last several years, though, is Rob Sheffield's "Love is a Mix Tape." I rather suspect that's because I identify both with the short, effervescent southern punk rock girl and the shy Irish Catholic narrator. If you're like me and associate music with events in your life, this book will hit you hard. I read it about two months after Dad died, and it blew me away.
