About Me

"Critics are born, not made... ask my mother."

I'm an ex-programmer, ex-lecturer and ex-diarist. (I missed one day in 25 years, seriously!) I review theatre and ballet for the Herald Sun in Melbourne and I write arts and culture features for the Financial Review, a national daily. I'm a member of the Green Room Awards Association's dance panel, which I have also chaired. In 2009, I am a judge of the Telstra Ballet Dancer of the Year award.

About You

A majority of visitors to this blog are outside of Australia. They hail from Afghanistan and Zimbabwe... and 150 countries between. They're mostly English-speaking, mostly European -- from Ebene Mauritius to El Dorado Kansas and from Reykjavic Iceland to Hicksville in New York -- but not all. There are regular readers in Gaza City (reading a Google translation into Arabic) and São Paulo (in Portuguese), not to mention Paris, Pisa, Pontevedra, Pretoria and Pahokee! (Oh, hell, I just mentioned them!)

You're not reading for kicks, obviously, but I'm hoping you're finding what you're looking for.
