| Introduction | Ethan and I are both grew up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and Zada was born in Los Angeles. Before leaving on this sail we lived in the South Bay of L.A. on boats, Eyoni being our 3rd boat. Our first boat was an H-28 little Hershoff design and our 2nd a HC-33 Hans Christian, slow but with a good pullman berth and lots o' storage! Eyoni is a French aluminum sailboat with little teak and little storage due to the fact it's a flat bottom, centerboard boat. In late January 2013 we will leave the Sea of Cortez behind us, after 4 years and sail south through Central America on our way to Ecuador. I am Zada's teacher for this, her 2nd grade of schooling, with a good deal of her learning coming from hands-on projects and simply living the life. What she knows in her almost 8 years of life surpasses what it took me numerous decades to learn...which is humbling, but much more amazing. |
