Introduction	stereotype me! Nora Ashira was born in 1949 after WWII as the only child of an afro american woman. Throughout her life, not only did she have to struggle with the obstacles came from discrimination and sexism of the society, but she also developed her skills in painting in a seperate-but-equal school and became one of the major post-modern artists of the 20th Century. "Painturism" , the movement she founded in late 60s, has shaken the society's perception of reality and gained momentum with a huge group of appriciators while influencing many renown artists like Andy Warhol.
