About Me

Born in Belfast, I served in the British Army for 22 years... I was taught some of my Survival Skills at The International Long Range and Reconnaissance Patrol School" in Germany. While working for Raleigh International in Belize I gained experience in Jungle Survival from Winston a renowned survival expert and I have trained with Thomas Schorr-kon from Trackways and Tom Brown Jr at the Tracker School. I also established Natural Pathways – paths to survival with Hannah Nicholls. I received a British Empire Medal from the Queen for establishing a Nature Reserve in Germany called the Zachariassee and I have taken part in various worldwide bird projects and ringing programmes, collected data for breeding atlases in Germany, Canada, Saudi Arabia and the Falkland Islands and illustrated several bird books. I have just completed a Masters (MSc) in Addiction Psychology and Counselling, (to see my dissertation click on my research page). At present I work with young men in a residential school and as a volunteer with a rehabilitation centre for people with addictions. I continue with my personal development and I am the proud father of Janine & Nickie Sara.
