Introduction I often say I'm nicheless, but what's more true is that I can be fitted into many niches. I am a Christ Follower, wife, mom of one adult son, reader, greener-wannabe, power napper, and 4th grade teacher. I struggle daily to become what He wants me to be instead of what I want to be. We are each one of us God's masterpieces. I picture myself as a tapestry, beautiful in His eyes, but full of knots and gaping holes when viewed with my own critical eye. I hope, when I write about important things, He is pleased, and when I write about silly things He laughs. Who doesn't like making Dad laugh?
Interests God stuff (oh wait, everything is God stuff!), Operation Christmas Child, biking (like when I was a kid, and we just "rode bikes"--no destination and no spandex needed!), reading, walking, being lazy, couch potatoing, teaching, learning, road trips, singing so poorly, and making attempts at knitting and sewing.
Favorite Movies The Philadelphia Story, To Kill a Mockingbird, Big, Prancer, Toy Story 3.
Favorite Music Selah's "Glory" is probably my favorite song ("...every knee falls down before Thee..."), but I listen to all sorts of things. There's more to music than the Christian genre and it's fun to find God in music that's not labeled Christian. I like 70s, 80s, 90s and now--hair bands to pure pop. Not much discernment here.
Favorite Books The Bible, Blue Like Jazz, To Kill a Mockingbird, My Sister's Keeper, Under the Banner of Heaven, Pink & Say ("Pinkus Aylee"), and too many kids' books to list! Remember Beverly Cleary? I love her Mitch and Amy. Any book that has characters that I forget are fictional gets me hooked.
