About Me

I've been a knitter for a long time - I guess for about 25 years - but I've been knitting almost constantly for the last six years. In fact, I would say I'm not happy if I'm not knitting. In 2006 I started an online yarn business catering to sock and lace knitters and then in September 2007, I expanded Pick Up Sticks to a bricks and mortar location in Bradford Ontario. Now in 2009, I've made the move to a new location in the country. Our garage has been converted to the yarn shop of my dreams. I'm having the time of my life - meeting other knitters, making new friends, watching new knitters go down the slippery slope of stash building!!!! My passion is for natural fibers, hand dyed and hand painted - nothing like it!

• Country! My husband had a satellite radio in his dump truck which he moved to my truck for our trip to Florida - I discovered that you can have continuous country music so guess where that radio is now - permanently in my truck.
