Introduction 1) A good teacher is a lifelong learner. 2) If you give people fish, they can eat for a day; teach people to fish, and they can eat for a lifetime. 3) At a New Jersey Association of School Librarians conference, a librarian extolled the philosophy, “Celebrate the understood, not the found!” I have been teaching since 1990. In addition to teaching middle and high school language arts from basic skills to honors, I taught middle school social studies, high school psychology, high school yearbook, two-year college composition, school-based violence prevention, and school-age HIV/AIDS education. I have my undergraduate B.A. in psychology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a Masters in Education with a concentration in secondary English from Temple University, and my standard educational media specialist certification and Masters in School Librarianship from Rowan University. Just prior to coming to my current MS/HS, I spent six years at a regional high school and three at a MS/HS. I am also a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) in School Library Media, i.e., school librarianship.
