About Me

Food is life. Being from South Louisiana, I learned this at a young age. As a society, we are defined by food. Turkey at Thanksgiving, a ham at Easter, BBQ on the 4th of July, a cake at a birthday party. Nearly every social event and outing in our country revolves around food. New Englanders love lobsters. Chicagoans eat Italian Beef. In Kansas CIty, it's BBQ. St. Louis? Ribs. Florida loves seafood. Austin? Tex-Mex. The list goes on and on. In Louisiana, we usually chat over lunch about what we'll be having for dinner. Food is our way of life, and celebrating simple dishes with friends and family make us rich in every way. Moving to New York in 2005... while continuing to work in Los Angeles at the same time, I found a treasure chest of amazing restaurants to talk about... and finally decided to put these opinions in a place where I could refer to them. Having owned 2 restaurants in my life, I'd like to think I have a special insight into this world... a real appreciation for the details. I hope you enjoy my rants and raves... and celebrate a special meal with the people who make your life special.
