About Me
I am an academic economist (with past incarnations in the policy world -- GATT/WTO, USITC) now based in Europe, though I have also served time as as economist in the U.S. My main occupation at the moment is teaching economics at the university level. This includes introductory macroecomics, international trade and finance, the economics of integration (global and regional), and international development. I confess that I also play with computer-based policy models on occasion. My research focuses on the international economy, and tends to be applied. This means I have an interest in how policies are formed, what people think they imply, and what they actually imply. These are not usually the same thing. The whole trans-Atlantic academic thing probably means the perspective offered here will be too US-focused for some, and too Euro-focused for others. Ah well....
