CCVI Parents Group

About me

Location Kansas City, Missouri
Introduction At CCVI, each parent cares not only for his or her own child, but also for all the CCVI children. Since our opening in 1952, parents have supported CCVI in many ways — from painting and repairing a classroom in our first school building to volunteering time in the classrooms and for special events. As a support group, the Parent Group meets monthly for educational and social opportunities. Social activities have included our Back-to-School Ice Cream Social, Parents' Night Out, and Braille Boot Camp. Educational programs for parents have included speakers from the CCVI staff, national experts in vision impairment and community resources for children with disabilities.
Interests The mission of the Children's Center for the Visually Impaired is to prepare children with visual impairments, including those with multiple disabilities, to reach their highest potential in the sighted world.
