| Introduction | Why Purple Hues? For me, the attraction started shortly after I got married. I had always thought “green” was my favorite color . . . something both my husband and I shared. But then, in decorating our first place, I found this wonderful striped wallpaper that had different shades of purple, green and gold. I hung the wallpaper in our bathroom and it became the prettiest room in the place. I loved the feeling I had when I was in that room. When I took baths, I would stare at the paper and feel so wonderful and relaxed. It had a calming effect on me. I know you’re thinking, well, she was “taking a bath” and that’s what soaking in a tub does. But this was more. I didn’t know at the time it was the shades of purple giving me this feeling. I only knew, I just “loved” that wallpaper. I had found my “favorite” color and I never looked back! Oh, and I didn’t go hog wild using the color either. Just in a tasteful manner. Now, we’ve moved into an “Active Adult” community, and I’m having a wonderful time of my life decorating with my favorite color. |
