| Introduction | Its not possible to travel everywhere, but I can still try and taste the world...experimenting to see where my mouth can possibly reach. I'm American, but now live in Glasgow, Scotland. Cuisine speaks volumes for a culture; in each new place I travel, I look for national dishes and the way food is eaten to understand and relate to the surrounding culture. I have sat for two degrees in Social Anthropology [one in the US and one in Scotland], specialising in Indigenous South American Studies. I have also lived with an indigenous community in Guyana, South America, where the bulk of each day was spent helping the village women in their food preparations. From all of my experiences, I have come to define myself for my love of food, travel and culture, and translate that on a daily basis into a connection to the the world via my kichen... !Viva la comida! |
