|Introduction||MacEwan Media has been my focus over the last few months. Currently still working with Beaufort County Developmental Center, Inc. Mostly working with people with developmental disabilities in search of employment in the community. Basicly this means I'm a Job Coach. This private nonprofit is located in a small rural town known as Washington, NC. The county has about 40,000 people with the 'city' coming in at around 10,000 people. My background is in tech. Starting with programming in BASIC on the TRS-80 at 14 yrs. old. I was a card carrying member of the tech boom in the 90's. Worked with an ISP and the whole bit. Linux since '97 - done the Linux, Apache, mySQL, PHP thingy. Still prefer PHP, mostly because it's what I'm used to, but Python will probably win out as this is what all the kids are using now days. After a year with BCDC I decided that working with people was more rewarding than computer were so I changed my major from computers to one more geared towards humans. **update: I've taken a position as Production Coordinator with Beaufort County Developmental Center, Inc. update: 01/25/10 This week will be my last with BCDC. Working from home full-time.|
|Favorite Movies||I bore easily so any action film that keeps my attention gets a thumbs up from me.|
|Favorite Music||usual spread I guess Techno/trance/dance/club is great while studying or doing yard related activities. RAP/Hip Hop is also preferred when engaging in outdoor carpet games.|
|Favorite Books||The books I read are nonfiction. Let's see, the Hacker Ethic by Pekka Himanen, Hacker Culture by D. Thomas come to mind. Tons on books on everything from the history of world religions to modern physics and a book on social engineering by Mitnick. :)|
