| Introduction | The worth of our work shouldn't always be defined by the paycheck we receive. I am a stay-at-home mother of five children and the wife of a school teacher living in the Midwest. Having earned a college degree, staying home to raise our children is a choice that we have kept as top priority. Graduating without debt on my part made that possible. My husband is fortunate to love what he does for a living and it has been a blessing for our family to have a steady and dependable income for 22 years now. But teachers never make a whole lot of money. Making ends meet and living within our means on a single income is a challenge which I am learning to love. We live modestly... for the most part. While I have always had eco-friendly interests and I have come to enjoy making good food in my own kitchen, this has become a story of focusing on a joyful attitude as we rise to meet our challenges without feeling deprived. Don't let people tell you it can't be done so think outside the box and rise to meet your challenges too! There is freedom, joy and peace to be found in living honestly in simplicity. |
