Occupation Librarian
Location Houston, Texas
Introduction Hi there! I’ll be your guide to evidence-based public health. I'm the library director at the University of Texas School of Public Health. I've been at UTSPH since Jan. 2001 and have been immersed in public health ever since. It’s become my passion, so much so that I enrolled in the program and completed my MPH May 2008. Before UTSPH, I worked at a community college which was great fun and extremely rewarding. I got that position partly as a result of my Internet experience. I was a trainer way back in the day when all we had were gophers, archie, veronica, and FTP. I have a BFA with a major in dance from The Ohio State University (Go Bucks!). My MLS is from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. I have to say thank you to my professors from both universities. I got a top notch education from both and, believe it or not, use what I learned as a dancer to this day in my role as a librarian. I'm an animal person-- I've got my share of cats and dogs, all of which are rescues and all of which have been spayed or neutered. I worked with the Houston Beagle & Hound Rescue for 5 years fostering beagles until I adopted one of my own.
