| Introduction | My name is George Farris and I have had an interest in technology since probably about age 6.
I currently work for a local University here on Vancouver Island in Information Technology. I work with Linux, Mac and Windows systems, mobile technology and Video Conferencing. I am an avid Linux fan and have written a number of programs and many scripts. I have a background in Industrial Control and spent fourteen years building equipment and programming PLC's. I am a Ham Radio operator (VE7FRG) and High Power Rocket enthusiast. Other projects close to my heart are electronics, micro controllers, growing a vegetable garden, photography and of course the good old Heathkit H8. |
