| Introduction | I'm a forty-something (hmmm...that does sound old) wife and mother who came to marriage and motherhood fairly late in life. I am lucky! I got the guy, the lovely baby girl, the cat named Stella and the word "mutton" on a Christmas card one year. That was an accomplishment. I'm also an illustrator who loves to make greeting cards with crackpot characters on them. I doodle, love getting cards in the mail, write occasionally and wish I could be more organized and clean my house more often. Oh yeah! I'm also a stage IV breast cancer wrangler. Which simply means I DIDN'T catch it early and no one will be celebrating me, donned in fantastic pink fripperies because I'll be fighting the "beast" forever more. Everyone's got their something I suppose. Mine is rather wily, causes a lot of side effects and has made me grapple with fear quite regularly. Mostly the fear of leaving my child motherless. But, for today, she has her mother! "Now do your homework sweetie!" |
