Interests

  • Eldoret is situated in Uasin Gishu District
  • lying south of the Cheranganyi Hills about 2700 metres above sea level (9000 feet). It is an administrative and industrial centre for the North Rift. The town has experienced one of the fastest growths in Kenya and has a population of slightly over 200
  • 000. It is a warren of small interesting lanes with old wooden houses
  • Mosques
  • and bustling markets. Eldoret has reliable rainfall which sustains the growth of the large trees that line the highways and countryside vista. Accessing the village during rain season is a challenge due to the state of the roads which become nearly impassable. Eldoret region is synonymous with marathon and distance athletes and has produced more elite world and olympic champions than any other place in the world.
