About Me

I was born in Mauritius completing my University studies in England. I qualified as a Foreign Going Master Mariner and sailed all over the world from 1966 to 1991. My last command was on the then largest refrigerated containier ship in the world. In 1972 I married my Scottish wife: Catherine and have 2 sons. We are grandparents of 3 little girls. In 1991 I left shipping and changed career by becoming a financial consultant with Barclays Group. In 1996 I became an Independent Financial Adviser. In 1999 I founded The Explorer Group of which The Financial Explorer (Southern) Ltd is the holding company. The main activity of the Group is carried out through The Mortgage Explorer. It provides independent mortgage advice to clients based in UK and overseas wishing to finance properties in UK, Offshore and Internationally. We deal mainly with 'niche' mortgage products such as Offset, Multi Currency and Eco Mortgages. Space being scarce I cannot describe these here but if you want to know more why not call at www.themortgageexplorer.co.uk
