About Me
I have been a full time outdoors writer and photographer for 28 years. For the past 16 years I've been the outdoors editor for the Beaumont Enterprise. As a U.S. Coast Guard licensed captain and guide my specialty is shallow water fly fishing. Currently I have five state fly fishing records with the best being a 53.44 pound ling. It's the heaviest fish to be caught on the fly in the Texas state record book. Things I've done that were pretty much fun: Running a Houston marathon - Solo hiking in East Africa - Snow skiing in Interlaken, Switzerland - Dog sledding the Continental Divide in Wyoming - Catching sailfish on a fly out of Guatemala.
