Introduction I’m a thirty something arthritic, originally from the north east of England, but now living in the east midlands. I’ve had arthritis for about 7 years, but things aren’t too bad. It could be worse...far worse. I work full time, and so long as I don’t do too much, I live a pretty normal (but tablet dependent) life. I do suffer quite a lot from tiredness, which, (so long as the tablets are working) is the main bit of the disease that gets me down. I took up knitting in March 2007, so haven’t been at it very long. My Mam showed me how to do the basic stuff (cast on, knit, purl and cast off) and then looked online for help and generally experimented. It has to be said that arthritis and knitting aren’t the best mix. It does make my fingers sore :o( Sometimes I can knit for ages, other times I can only manage a few lines. It took me a few months to discover *big* wool and *big* needles. I’ve been quite taken with massive, chunky wool and needles that look like pokers. They’re much kinder to fingers, and quick to knit. Not sure how I’m going to get on with blogging...but I’ll give it a good go! I started a blog on Wordpress but have copied the main posts to this blog.
