Introduction I've always been a right-brained thinker, majoring in film in undergrad at Boston University and getting an M.A. in literature from a brick and ivy institute of higher learning across the Charles River on the Cambridge side. In my quest for the answer to "What do I want to be when I grow up?" I have held a plethora of employment positions including dog walker, snowboard instructor, dive boat grunt, freelance writer, snorkeling instructor, reviewer of adult films, bartender, nanny, executive assistant, kayak company manager, sailing center office manager, orderer of laboratory test rodents, Greenpeace activist, yacht club cocktail waitress/banquet server, retail store manager, house painter, window decorator, floral assistant, building supervisor, certified personal trainer, audio/visual technician, receptionist, graphic designer, prep school alumni director, and temp. There are more, I just can't remember them all. Stuff I love: Snowboarding, trance music, literature, wine, outrigger canoe paddling, stand-up paddle surfing, microbrews, SCUBA, eating lobster, making pancakes, quantum mechanics, my family, and all things Hawaiian.

The doctor calls and tells you that you have the deadliest form of cancer. You survive. Does dodging that bullet force you to look more critically at how you live your life? It did for me. You don't need to dodge bullets to make the changes you know you should make. Is the person in the mirror happy with the status quo? If not, what are you going to do about it?
