About Me
My name is Natalie. I grew up Polish and American, but fate (qadar) led me to love Arab-Islamic culture and civilization. I graduated with a degree in Middle East Studies from Brown University. My life's passion is expression via the Arabic language, which I studied in school for five years, two of those in Egypt. I like religion, too: Islam, Christianity, and Buddhism have drawn my considerable attention. I hope this blog expresses the sense of wonder, confusion, and, occasionally, understanding that I find in this world. As the great Muslim intellects used to say: Whatever I have spoken of truth or wisdom came from God; whatever errors I made came from me.
