August Skamenca

About Me

He's only 25 and award-winning broadcast journalist August Skamenca has spent more than a decade reporting. Honored with numerous prestigious awards, Skamenca hopes to help define the next generation of broadcast journalism. His background includes covering numerous major national stories. After reporting for several years in Denver, Skamenca left Colorado for Missouri to couple experience with a degree. He is a senior at the University of Missouri School of Journalism. He reports and anchors for KOMU-TV, the NBC affiliate and KBIA-FM, an NPR member station. His radio reports filed from across the country have aired nationally on ABC News Radio, CNN Radio, NPR and Metro Networks/Westwood One.
