About Me

My name is Stuart (Stu) and I blog as 'Seaspook'. I'm retired. I've worked as a civilian in a number of Federal agencies for the past 27 years (Dept. of Justice, Federal Aviation Admin., USAF, Defense Logistics Agency, and General Services Administration). Active duty with the Navy for 7 years beginning in 1967. I finished a career in the Navy of 24 years in the reserves and retired as a Chief Intelligence Specialist. I began my Navy career as an aircraft mechanic and then changed to intelligence during my last 9 years of service. I served in 4 different squadrons and on 3 different aircraft carriers, and an LST. Assignments included Naval Air Station (NAS) Norfolk, VA, NAS Corpus Christi, TX, NAS Dallas, TX, Defense Intelligence Agency, US Southern Command, CINCPAC Fleet, CINCLANT Fleet, and Seventh Fleet HQ. Locations included Virginia, Texas, Hawaii, Washington DC, the North Atlantic, Arctic, Mediterranean, Canada, Japan, West Africa, and Central America. I've been married (to the same woman) for nearly 39 years, and I have a daughter and granddaughter.
