About Me

I have always loved books, and it seems a natural progression that I became a librarian, but this actually happened quite by accident. I originally started out training to be an accountant, but my life changed, and while studying, I got a part-time job in my university library. On graduation, I stayed in the library and qualified as a librarian, moving on into library sales, and then into medical librarianship starting off in a mental health library and then becoming a primary care outreach librarian. After 5 years managing the National Library for Health Specialist Library for Knowledge Management together with the National Knowledge Service homepage and NLH Document of the Week, I now work for the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement or their KM team. One of my life ambitions is to write a factual book on the common factor linking banking scandals that have occurred over recent years. I don't know if this will ever happen, but the background literature makes very interesting reading.
