| Introduction | My name is the same one as a famous film director. I use this blog to record my weekly musings. Having been raised a fundamentalist Christian who was not allowed to watch TV, listen to rock music or go to the movies, I very naturally bring to my adult life a keener-than-usual appetite for old TV shows and movies, and, unusually for someone raised this way, I have a continuing interest in religion in a "how it works and when it doesn't" sort of way. I write and record music with my friends. Having been kicked out of my church for just such pursuits (along with poor attendance and writing a parody of one of their beloved pamphlets) and officially branded a "wicked person" by the elders, I wreak havoc in small ways, encouraging feeling, thinking and doing in general, instead of the alternative sitting, waiting and trying not to do anything wrong. |
