Occupation Will work for beer...
Location An 1850's Gold Rush town, The State of Jefferson, United States
Introduction I started collecting in 1966 when I happened on a purple coffin flask while deer hunting on our ranch on Mt. Hamilton, in the hills east of San Jose. I've been an avid collector since. In the 70's I decided to focus my collecting on western whiskies. Over the years I've purchased individual items, small groupings and large collections. I've bought literally thousands of items in order to upgrade and continue to add new examples to my collection. In order to help keep the collection from over-running the house, I publish a quarterly list of pre-prohibition western whiskey items, including cylinders, shot glasses, flasks and related "whiskeyana" that is sent out to roughly 200 fellow collectors. I often also have a good supply of eastern pre-pro glasses. Each list averages over ten pages and all items are accurately described in detail. Unless otherwise noted, all items are free of chips, dings, scratches, stain, repairs, or other post production “excuses”. We do our best to eliminate unpleasant “surprises” and strive to honestly describe the item as if you were holding it in your hand. The lists are sent out via email (jsglass@q.com) or by mail at no charge.
