Introduction Dale Chase Coykendall was born and raised in Connecticut into a large boisterous family of eccentric artists and gardeners. An unusually quiet child she learned early on (2nd grade) that the right image(a tap dancing frog) could bring recognition and creative satisfaction. Many happy years passed. Dale studied graphic design at Parsons School of Design. She worked joyfully creating award winning corporate annual reports and Zabar’s first mail order catalog. Volunteered with the Green Guerillas . Buoyed by the birth of her daughter she started drawing again. dancing bunnies & jumping cats. Dale designed and produced a sweet doll that she named after her daughter Elizabeth. Her note cards and Vermont Lizzy Doll soon developed a devoted following . A line of pillows and rugs followed. And her daughter told her to stop naming stuff after her. She has designed and illustrated packaging for a variety of Vermont specialty food products from ketchup to brownie mixes. Her drawings celebrate her many joys, her family, her garden, a lovely dog and an ill tempered cat named Sylvia.
