About Me

I live in the Woodland-in-Waverly neighborhood near downtown Nashville. I enjoy the live music scene, art openings, and all Nashville has to offer. I am married to the lovely Louella Ballenger. I have a grown daughter, Rachel, of whom I am very proud. I am Director of Housing Services for a non-profit agency. I am a veteran and served in the Air Force including tours in Vietnam and Thailand. After military service, I went to college at East Tennessee State University, graduating with a degree in Political Science and Economics. In college I wrote a conservative column for the campus newspaper and was Chairman of a Young Americans for Freedom Chapter. I served in the Metro Council of Nashville/Davidson County from 1979 to 1991. Until George Bush’s campaign for a second term, I had always voted Republican. I think we were lied to in order to justify an invasion of Iraq, I am unhappy that a Republican Congress has spent money like drunken sailors, Republicans who deny global warming embarrass me, and, I think George Bush is trampling the Constitution.
